April 30 class: Following the Breath~ Thich Nhat Hanh

We did not have a birth story, yet were thinking about our fellow classmates who were due over the past couple weeks, and look forward to hearing their birth stories.  We discussed interviewing doctors and midwives, and the importance of feeling comfortable and supported by your caregiver and hospital or place where you plan to birth, and that you can always change venue if you don’t feel comfortable.

With a little extra time to talk, we discussed how everyone was doing, and how almost everyone needed some good relaxation time, as the energy of spring has been keeping most of us quite busy.  We had a quiet, yin-class with time to breathe and be grounded.  I shared a reading from Thich Nhat Hanh’s book Present Moment Wonderful Moment and shared a meditation at the beginning and end of class- a summary of it is here, from 14. Following the Breath~

Breathing in, I calm my body.

Breathing out, I smile.

Dwelling in the present moment,

I know this is a wonderful moment

And of course we had lots of yoga and dancing time as well!  Enjoy the rest of the week.

With calm and peace,  Tekla
